Special Reception celebrating the artist's 81st birthday

Friday, September 19, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

We're delighted to announce our forthcoming exhibition of new work by American legend Mark English. For more than four decades, English has been one of the top illustrators in the world, as reflected by the hundreds of awards conferred on his work (he is the most honored illustrator in the history of the Society of Illustrators in New York). He has created illustrations for Redbook, Sports Illustrated, Saturday Evening Post, TIME, Atlantic Monthly, Good Housekeeping, McCall's, TV Guide, Eddie Bauer, Bantam Books, and US Parks Service, among others.

Since the 1990s English, who turns 81 on September 19, has concentrated more on fine art created for his own pleasure. His most recent, highly acclaimed, body of work incorporates oil and collage in a series of restlessly inventive images of people, animals, and landscapes. This will be a major event for collectors.

"Mark English refuses to be bored. An artist of exceptional gifts, he has achieved one remarkable success after another. Driven by a need for excellence and an unending attraction to challenge and change, he has created an unparalleled body of work. "
